Direct messages
Find a conversation
Use the Cressida logo at the top of the server rail to return to direct messages. It restores your last valid DM. If you have no conversations, it opens Friends. Friends and Message Requests also have their own entries in the sidebar.
Use Find or start a conversation to find a person or conversation. The DM list shows avatars, presence and available custom statuses. A person's server tag can appear beside their name.
Read a profile beside your chat
In a one-to-one DM, the right panel shows the recipient's profile. It can include:
- A banner, avatar and presence indicator.
- Display name, username, pronouns and server tag.
- Custom status, mutual friend/server counts and account creation date.
- A biography and a View Full Profile button.
The chat header also shows the recipient's avatar and custom status. Use the header's panel toggle to show or hide the side panel. At narrow window widths, Cressida hides the optional panel to keep room for the conversation.
Profile information depends on what is available to your account. Private or unavailable profiles keep a basic identity visible. If loading fails, use the offered retry action.
Group conversations
Group DMs show the participant list instead of a single-person profile panel. Opening a group does not replace its participants with one member's profile.
